9.1. Adobe Reader and Acrobat Reader

The Adobe Reader is the free Program to read PDF Files.

Earlier there were confusions differing between Acrobat Reader and Acrobat (without extension) as the reader was the free program to read PDF Files and the Acrobat was the program to generate PDF Files.

And now both programs are combined again and have the Name Acrobat Reader DC

Here we like to give some Tipps how to configure both programs for COBRA:

To open the configure screen of the Reader please go to 'Edit', 'Options' or press CTRL+K.

  • On TAB 'Reading':

  • On Page 'Accessibility':

Some of this settings will be activated after you have restarted the Reader.

When you open the Reader a Dialog will ask which Reading Order you wish.

You should select 'Top to bottom, Left to Right' here to get the best results.

With CTRL+Shift+5 you change the Reading Order from within the Document.
