5.27. COBRA-Key+Shift+L: Switch navigation between Line Mode and Element Mode

Use COBRA-Key+Shift+L to switch between Line- and Element mode when navigating.

Navigation means to move around the screen to browse its content, by using the navigation functions on Level 0 of the Keypad , or the Windows-Key+Up arrow and Windows-Key+Down arrow.

If Element display is activated, you will be taken to one element at a time when you move around the screen. If, for example, you find yourself in the middle of three elements in a line and you move up, you will first be taken to the first element in the line. Not until you move upwards once again will you move to the previous line. This is exactly the same when you move down.

In Line display, however, elements which appear in a line on the screen will be announced simultaneously in speech and Braille. When moving up and down, the line in which you are moving will always be displayed and spoken in its entirety.

Instead of switching between Element- and Line Mode for navigation in cursor tracking, use the COBRA-Key+L command.

These settings can be changed and made permanent in the “General” dialog of the COBRA Menu.
