SuperVario

There is always a SuperVario / Pocket-
Vario that fits your Needs !

SuperVario Braille displays are setting new standards with regard to dimensions,
weight, flexibility, battery operating times and interface options.

SuperVario 64 and 80

SuperVario
SuperVario 64 and 80 are designed for professional
and private application.

SuperVarioSuperVario 32 and 40

These are our 32-cell respectively 40-cell Braille displays designed mainly for use with notebooks or reading machines. It is about 40% smaller than the previous model Vario 40 that - at time of its presentation - was the smallest Braille display on the market and held this position for approx. 6 years.

PocketVario 24

PocketVario 24 is a mini-Braille display with 24 cells. This is an attractively-priced alternative for the private User and can really be carried "in your pocket".

All SuperVario and PocketVario Braille displays have easy and universal interface options:

  • BlueTooth - the modern wireless connection to the PC
  • USB - standard cable connection
  • Serial - standard interface for older MS-DOS PCs

Long Battery Running Time

Another important feature for Users are the unrivalled long battery running times:

Battery running time Bluetooth connection: approx. 30 hours
Battery running time USB or serial connection: approx. 100 hours!

In addition, both PocketVario and SuperVario offer intelligent loading electronics with use of the USB-interface: the Braille display is only loaded while your notebook is operated on mains power. When the notebook is running on battery power, PocketVario and SuperVario automatically switch to battery operation too. Thus the generally shorter running time of your notebook on battery power will not be further reduced.

A quality product

The extremely stable housing is made up of aluminium on the upper side, while the lower plate is made of plastic. These techniques are also being used nowadays with modern camera casings and they have already proved themselves with our Organizer Pronto! 18.
This technique allows us to construct a family of compact and attractive but very stable and robust devices.

The SuperVario and PocketVario Braille displays represent another milestone in the development of mobile devices for blind computer Users. They distinguish themselves by the combination of the newest technologies with a proven, yet simple concept of use and a very attractive price - performance ratio.

Screen Readers

SuperVario and PocketVario Braille displays can be operated not only with COBRA, VIRGO4 or BLINDOWS, but also with all other known screen readers.

VIRGO4 and BLINDOWS screen readers and their mutual successor called COBRA - to be released in the second half of 2007 - will support all PocketVario and SuperVario Braille displays in an optimum manner. Our aim is for you to rely less and less on a screen reader and for you to be able carry out your work easily and efficiently using only your PocketVario or SuperVario Braille display – the screen reader should then only be regarded as a support function in this work.

Also special drivers (called TBI - Talks Braille Interface) exist to communicate with your mobile device (mobile phone or PDa) which is driven with some versions of Talks software (product of NUANCE, Inc.).
